Claudia Theune is Professor of Historical Archaeology at the University of Vienna with a focus on contemporary archaeology, on medieval and post-medieval marginal landscapes and on early medieval funeral and social archaeology.
Thiessen, Mark MA (MA)
Mark Thiessen (Maastricht, 1982) studied history of International Relations at Utrecht University. He graduated cum laude in 2008 after researching the origins and effects of the Islamic revolution in Iran for his master thesis. Mark has published a range of articles about international relations and contemporary Iranian history in a number of newspapers and academic magazines since 2007 and is currently working as an advisor for international and European affairs in Dutch parliament.
Thomas, Brittany (Dr.)
Brittany Thomas is in the writing-up stage of her PhD at the University of Leicester, working on the late antique art and architecture of Ravenna under Dr Neil Christie. Her research interests include interaction with art in public spaces, imagined and re-visioned space, and notions of the gaze and the ‘viewer’ in antiquity.
Thomas, Julian (Prof. dr.)
Julian Thomas is Professor of Archaeology at the University of Manchester. He is a leading expert on Neolithic Britain, and has directed excavations in many parts of Britain from Scotland to southern England. His books include Understanding the Neolithic, Time, Culture and Identity, and The Birth of Neolithic Britain.

Nicholas Thomas did doctoral research in the Marquesas Islands and has since written extensively on exploration and cross-cultural encounters and on art histories in the Pacific. He has been Director of the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Cambridge since 2006.
Tilley, Chris (Prof. dr.)
Chris Tilley is Professor of Anthropology at University College London (UCL). He has directed archaeological projects in Britain and has written widely on many topics including archaeological theory and phenomenology, for which he is known internationally. His books include A Phenomenology of Landscape, Metaphor and Material Culture, An Anthropology of Landscape and The Materiality of Stone.
Trakadas, Athena (Dr.)
Athena Trakadas is a maritime archaeologist focusing on ancient marine resource exploitation and coastal and riverine landscapes, as well as natural-cultural heritage management. Athena directs long-term research projects in Morocco, and has led and conducted archaeological fieldwork in Montenegro, Italy, Iran, Abu Dhabi, Egypt, Türkiye, Greece, Germany and Denmark. She is Senior Researcher at the Viking Ship Museum (Denmark), External Associate Professor in Classical Archaeology at the University of Copenhagen, and Editor of the International Journal of Nautical Archaeology. She co-founded and co-chairs the UN-partner Ocean Decade Heritage Network NGO. She serves on the Advisory Council on Underwater Archaeology’s Executive Board, and the Advisory Boards of the Koç University Mustafa V. Koç Maritime Archaeology Research Center (Türkiye) and Scripps Center for Marine Archaeology, University of California, San Diego (USA). She has a long-standing relationship with the 2001 UNESCO Convention on the Protection on the Underwater Cultural Heritage as an expert trainer and member of its UNITWIN Network for Underwater Archaeology and Accredited NGOs, and as an Expert Consultant to its Scientific and Technical Advisory Board.
