Drs. Caroline Vermeeren
Caroline Vermeeren graduated in 1986 as biologist at Leiden University, specializing in archaeobotany and palynology. from 1986 to 1989 she was teacher in biology and since 1990 she gives guest lectures in archaeobotany at Leiden University, Amsterdam University and Groningen University.
After a few years of freelance archaeobotanical research, Caroline became involved in BIAX Consult from 1994 onward. This Dutch company facilitates analysis of all archaeobotanical materials and landscape reconstructions for various archaeological projects in The Netherlands. Current research by Caroline includes macro- and micro fossils and she specializes in the analysis of wood.
